Wedding Trend: Elegant Naked Cakes

wedding-cakeSome say these cakes are unfrosted and unfinished. Others say these cakes look deconstructed. We say they’re naked and absolutely fabulous wedding cakes!

What are Naked Cakes?

Naked (no icing) or semi-naked (the barest coating of icing) wedding cakes are trending these days. Engaged couples select them for all types of weddings—rustic, vintage, beach, shabby chic, country, boho; formal or informal. It’s a trend that’s here to stay. We love how cake designers use fruit to adorn the cake to match the wedding style and season.

Fun to Eat Fruit Naked Wedding Cake

Apples in shades of greens, reds and yellows are terrific garnishes for naked wedding cakes. Imagine enjoying a bite of this rustic, naked, wedding cake? We love how this simply, elegant cake was enhanced with our monogrammed, red apples and some fresh berries.

It’s wonderful to use seasonal fruit on your naked cakes. Apples are perfect for fall weddings; peaches and berries for spring and summer. For winter weddings, couples are using sugared cranberries and oranges slices.

Try using Fun to Eat Fruit to accent your naked cake. You might want to order more than just a few for the cake. Couples enjoy using Fun to Eat Fruit with their monograms as favors and snacks at their weddings and in their welcome bags.

I absolutely LOVE naked wedding cakes and when paired with fruit {especially monogrammed ones} – it’s even better. This is a trend I never want to see go away.

Love this trend! Frosting can be cute but who naked cakes just have that cool factor (especially paired with healthy for you fruit!).
